Interview
Received email from recruiter stating he would like to set up phone interview. He provided a window of his availability being 9a-430p. I replied back with a time, 1130am, and he accepted. Called at 1130am and he was not prepared, asked me for my name after I had introduced myself at the beginning of the call. He then asked me if I could call him later because he just came back from a trip and needed to get situated. Okay, fine. Once I finally connect with him, he asks me what location would be a preference for the position. I let him know and he says he needs to CALL ME BACK because he wasn't sure if the opening was still available. Tells me he'll call me back in 5 minutes. 30 minutes pass and I try calling him. No answer. 15 more minutes pass and just for giggles, I try one more time CALLING him back. Nothing.
First impressions are everything and if this is who Cogent has representing them, good luck finding and keeping viable candidates. Super unprofessional and flat out rude. No one's time is more important than anyone else's.

Interview
Very quick and straightforward. Fast hiring process. One recruiter phone interview, one in person with the hiring manager that lasts about an hour. Very quick turnaround time to get hired, which is appreciated.

Question 1
I honestly can’t remember. It was more of a “tell me about your background” conversation type environment. It felt pretty casual and natural. I feel like I asked most of the questions.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cogent Communications in Aug 2024
Interview
very straightforward two round interview process, 1st call screen with a recuriter, 2nd call is either in person or virtual screening with 1-2 managers. Some questions they ask, 1) how do you structure your day to complete the tasks? 2) previous quota attainment and performance, how does that translate into a role with Cogent? 3) any transferrable knowledge or skills that will make you successful at cogent?
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you manage your time throughout the day? what portion of time do you devote to calls/emails and prospecting?
Single interview. Basic questions about experience and organization skills. We’re looking for coachability, organization skills, and networking skills. They’re very upfront about pay, expectations, and culture as well. I got an offer two days later, so the process is quick.
