Fairly standard interview process initially, then was asked to interview with quite a number of people and varied positions. Very unusual for this role and in this industry. Normally, it's meet/interview with 2 or 3 people, this was 7 or 8. They kept asking for more time, though I was internally recommended. I think the real issue was that the person who interviewed me was a reasonably new hire to the organization and believed he had much more autonomy and flexibility than he really had. That was a clear sign for me to proceed with caution going forward. After continued delays, he was asked senior staff to look at some additional candidates, so I just simply gave up and focused my energies elsewhere. My personal experience is that for a small firm to grow 2x to 4x, you must be faster and more decisive with your decisions and not drag them out (the reality is no decision is much worse than a bad decision), and also hire great talent - but that can be expensive. However, I have never seen any firm save their way to greatness. They knew that I was top talent going in, but felt it reasonable for me to accept a 95K cut in base pay. Their communication was very poor, so I just gave up on them. I wish them all the best, they need it.
