There was about one pretty long round of interviews. While it entailed speaking with multiple people at various levels within the department, it also offered a good insight into the feel of the campus and community.

What is your ideal breakdown of time spent working independently vs in a group.
First there is a Phone call, then an in person interview. There may be another interview then reference check before a possible offer is made. Typical interview process at this company
Very lengthy, time between applying to first and second interview took 6 weeks total. Interview itself was lengthy too, almost 2 hours of questions. Interview was very in depth and with layered questions about to gauge your personality and how you would handle a busy office environment.

Interview
Virtual interview with supervisor of the administrative position and person currently occupying the position. Interview was not overly formal and was very straightforward with no surprise or trick questions. It was about 30-45 minutes in length.
