      Interview

I submitted my resume and samples requested in the job posting through their website. Within a few days, I received an email requesting a 45-60 minute phone interview. The interview went a full hour, and I genuinely felt like it went well. The interviewer said things like, "that's super relevant..." I was told the next step in their process is for me to complete an assignment. I was asked how long I could turn something around (without knowing the assignment). Since I have a full-time job, I wanted to give myself the weekend to get it right. I asked for one week. I was emailed the assignment within 15 minutes of our phone interview. It had 2 options. I chose a direction, and worked for the next week. When I emailed it, I asked to confirm receipt. No response. I gave it a couple of days, and followed up to confirm my assignment was received. No response. 6 weeks later I received a canned email thanking me for my time but there wasn't a direct fit. Pretty inconsiderate in my opinion.

      Interview

The process started off really well. The recruiting coordinator was very friendly, and we had a great chat. I was then asked to submit writing samples, and pretty soon I was chatting with the hiring manager. The interviews made me feel ecstatic to be talking to them, because I could hear the excitement in their voice too. It went genuinely well in my opinion. That is until the very same recruiter sent me an email with no explanation that I was no longer considered for the position. I reached out asking why. No response. Followed up a few weeks later. No response to this day (now a few weeks later as well). I know no company is obligated to respond, but for a company who mission is to provide a great workplace experience, the experience I had doesn't quite reflect that.

Hello, this is Alicia, Lead Recruiter with Comfy. First of all, I'd like to apologize for our inadequate and tardy response following your interview. We continually work to create an awesome candidate experience and we're so sorry to hear that yours was less than ideal. I understand our hiring manager and you have since corresponded about the unique circumstances that caused the delay that you unfortunately experienced, but if you have any further questions feel free to contact me directly. As Comfy scales and grows rapidly, we are constantly growing and improving our processes and we appreciate your feedback.
