I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Commerce Bank (Kansas City, MO) in Oct 2024
Interview
Interview was held over Microsoft Teams. The primary interviewer had his camera turned off the entire time so I couldn't even see who I was speaking to. They were obviously unprepared for the interview as they asked a ton of questions that had nothing to do with the job whatsoever (ex: "Run us through the process of tying your shoe"???) Felt that I answered every question honestly and to the best of my ability. When I didn't hear back from them for about a week, I tried to call the branch and it went to voicemail. I tried to call a little bit later, the phone rang twice and went to voicemail. They can't even give me a call back to tell me I was declined for the role. They say it's an entry-level job, but require at least two years experience in a banking role. Company is a joke and would seriously avoid if you're looking to start in a banking role. Interviewers are lazy and don't know how to conduct a solid interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Commerce Bank (Cape Girardeau, MO) in Apr 2026

The interview process was quick and easy. Everyone I spoke with was so nice! I think commerce did a really good job with giving updates on the interview process, which I really appreciated.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Commerce Bank (Hays, KS) in Nov 2024
Interview
The interview process overall was very formal... three part interview process. First interview was a phone based interview with HR. The second interview was in person. I did not get selected for a final interview. They asked alot of behavior based interview question such as "Tell me about a time where you had a conflict with a supervisor or coworker and how did you handle it?" They also asked about my experience in sales due to the nature of what the position is. I was even asked about my learning style and how I deal with stress. Overall, I liked the interview process but was disappointed I was not selected for the position despite feeling like I was a good fit for it.
