I had 3 different interviews with the Strongline team (recently acquired by Commure) where I was asked about my previous experiences, how I would build a new CS team, my philosophy on hiring, etc. All pretty standard first round interviews for a position like this and I was told that I was a great fit for the role. I was then told to wait for next steps over the course of 6 weeks with updates being "The hiring manager is out sick" & "leadership is reviewing the position" but was promised a final decision by x date multiple times with the goal posts moved each time. I also noticed the position was taken down and switched to a lesser role before being switched back to a director role during this time.
After asking for follow up several times, I moved on and accepted an offer elsewhere. Surprisingly, I finally got an email telling me they went in another direction without any feedback why I went from "perfect for this role" to "not a good fit". I am not sure what is going on at Commure, but I found this to be a vague and disappointing experience. I do not believe they were ready to hire for this position when they first booked up my time for interviews.
