Too many interviews, with too many people. The process was very long, lasted about 2 months. Did not make it to the final round which was a case-study and panel presentation in-office.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Compass (Seattle, WA) in Dec 2020
Interview
The interview process was pretty smooth until the final interview with the regional.
1) Interview with the recruiter went smooth and felt the questions weren't to hard.
2) I video interviewed with 3 local employees, one after the other. The thought of doing that many interviews was a bit nerve-racking at first but it was actually nice because everything was fresh. The interviews went really well and I received great feedback.
3) For the next step the recruiter asked me to prepare 2 presentations on prompts given. The prompts never came through which may have been a gmail problem that was occurring. They resent a few days later. The prompts were for another market and it wasn't detailed what kind of presentation was to be given. Oral, Graphic or Executive Summary. I followed up with the recruiter to see if they wanted the presentation to be for the local market since the position was for a new local office. She said yes, and sorry for not updating the prompts. I was told most presenters do a PowerPoint presentation. **The presentations were to be 20 minutes of the 30-minute final interview. **
Of course, as a marketing person, I was all about doing a great presentation as that was going to be the majority of the interview process. I worked for days on the presentations, pulling Compass branding from their website and adding my local real estate knowledge.
4) When it was time to interview with the regional they had no clue about the presentation. I was a bit upset inside that I just spent that much time on 2 presentations and this person had no clue about them. I could have spent more time preparing for the interview and less on the presentations. I asked if the regional wanted me to to send the presentations to their email and they said yes. I sent them and didn't hear back. That was really a disappointment in an interview process that was going very well prior to the final interview.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Compass in Oct 2025
Interview
The interview process took about a month. First round is a recruiter call, then a second interview with a hiring manager. 3rd round is 2 back to back interviews with people on the marketing team, and a final round in person presentation, which is the most prep out of all of them. They give you 2 prompts to prepare and present. I had an overall great experience, everyone was very warm and kind!
