This was the longest, most tedious interview process I have ever experienced. After the phone screening and a 1-on-1 phone interview with a recruiter, I was asked to visit the Merrimack NH office for a one-hour group interview. Hearing nothing for 2 weeks afterwards, I called asking how to I could further my candidacy, and was then asked to prepare a 30-60-90 presentation, to be given for another group panel in Merrimack. I gave the presentation, only to begin receiving mixed communication over which team I would be continuing to interview for (multiple open positions).
I proceeded to have two more webinar interviews, including giving my 30-60-90 presentation once more to another employee located on the west coast. My references were contacted, and they submitted for the background check. Then I heard nothing for 5 weeks. At this point I called the recruiter, just to hold them accountable. It was at this time of the interview process that they informed me they were vetting other candidates and they would bet letting me know within a week. This "next week" excuse dragged on each week for another month, until the recruiter finally tells me she's going on vacation for 2 weeks and won't be able to let me know if I got the job or not (I'm not kidding). I finally get an email saying they went with another candidate, almost 4 full months after the initial phone screen.
I knew 6 weeks into the process that I would never want to work for a company that behaves this way, but felt obliged to force them to see the process through to the end. Much wasted time and effort. Also, they would call me during working hours assuming I could just speak with them while in my current employer's office, giving presentations and all. I took 2 personal days for this company for my interviewing travel commitments.
