My interview experience with Convatec was unprofessional at best and can only be described as total chaos. The entire process revealed a company lacking basic organizational competence and respect for candidates' time.
The most glaring issue was the poor scheduling decision - they programmed my interview for a Friday, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Slovak employees generally have low motivation and energy at the end of the work week. This cultural insensitivity demonstrated their disconnect from local work attitudes and preferences.
The coordination between departments was virtually non-existent. There was a complete lack of communication between the Global Hub HR team based in Lisbon, Portugal, and the local operations. This resulted in confusion about interview logistics, conflicting information, and an overall disjointed experience that left me questioning their internal processes.
Perhaps most frustrating was their response time - or lack thereof. After completing what felt like a rushed and poorly organized interview process, I waited three full weeks before receiving any communication from them. This extended silence showed complete disregard for candidates and basic professional courtesy.
The entire experience reflected a company that either doesn't value potential employees or lacks the organizational infrastructure to conduct proper recruitment. For a global company like Convatec, this level of unprofessionalism was particularly disappointing and concerning about their overall corporate culture and operational efficiency.
