The interview was nice and easy. They were currently transitioning hiring mangers from Justin (forget last name) and Scott Stoots - so I actually interviewed with the both of these 2 chaps. Interview was very casual, informal and relatively easy.
I want to write this review to let everybody know how UNPROFESSIONAL this company truly is, and to help you see them for who they really are.
Long story short; I am a current employee at Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, where I am very well-liked at my job. I have been at Jared going on 2 years now, have been offered promotional opportunities, but the money just wasn't attractive in the slightest. My background is in food and beverage, as I have worked in the restaurant industry going on 10yrs. I saw an ad on indeed that cook out was looking for managers in the Fredericksburg, VA area, that it payed well and it immediately peeked my interest. I applied, got the interview, and ultimately got offered the position same day as the interview. I interviewed with them on 11/19/19, and as stated, was offered the job that same day. I had initially told my current boss at Jared that I was happy to work until Christmas Eve, as this is our busy season. I have a tremendous amount of respect for my current boss, and didn't want to leave them in a jam, but it was time for me to take the next step in my career. Cook Out saw on my application that the earliest I was available to start was 12/26/19 - right after Christmas, and right after my commitment to Jared would come to an end. Long story short, they (Scott Stoots) persuaded me to leave in just 2 weeks, instead of staying until Christmas Eve - as they wanted me to start at Cook Out ASAP. I had a frank conversation with my boss at Jared and told her the unfortunate news.
Point of the story: Cook Out makes you pay for your own background checks through a website called Goodhire.com - I paid the $19.99, save it as a PDF on your device, and then email to your hiring manager - in my case, Scott Stoots, Upon emailing my background check to Scott Stoots on 11/19/19 - I have not heard ONE word back from him. And I have left about 4-5 messages on his phone. And for the record, no, I am NOT a felon. Jared's screening process is a lot more intense than cook-outs, I can assure you that much. Just want to say how appalled and disgusted I am at this company's lack of etiquette, professionalism and just common courtesy - I left my job earlier than anticipated for a new 1, and they don't even have the decency to tell me that they had a change of heart? Absolutely DISGUSTING - do NOT work for this company, unless you don't mind being treated like disposable waste, an absolute nobody.
