It is unusual for our recruiters to initiate the interview with, "What questions do you have," without a proper introduction and discussion about your background and qualifications. Regarding the rejection email you received shortly afterward, we would like to clarify that our decision-making process takes into consideration various factors, including the alignment of skills and experience with the position requirements, cultural fit, and more. Your questions during the interview would not have been the sole reason for the outcome.
We value candidates who are proactive and curious, as it demonstrates a genuine interest in the company and the role. As such, asking questions is encouraged, and it should not negatively impact your candidacy.
