1. Screening call 2. Assessment 3. Interview with a presentation This process was extensive. The first call assesses your interest in the company and the fact that you know what Costello does. The assessment is very rigorous to determine your technical knowledge and ability to deliver high-quality work. The final interview was a mix of a traditional behavioral interview and then a presentation with a Q&A session.

Three rounds. First round - telephone screening with HR and future line manager (heard back the next day about making it to next round). Second round - 4 written assignments with 14 days to complete. Assignments included (i) review of a published paper to assess its limitations; (ii) code out descriptive features of a dataset in R (no statistics needed); (iii) proof read a junior colleagues abstract; and (iv) respond to a client's email about planning out a proposed research project. I heard back in 2 weeks about making it to the final round. Final round - three in-person interviews. First interview comprised a technical presentation (15 mins max) on the paper I reviewed, planning a prospective study, and stratifying groups for a potential study. Second interview comprised a cultural fit round (why this company, your strengths etc.). Third round comprised meeting with head of the division and some more cultural fit and motivation questions. All together lasted 2-2.5hrs. Offer was made next day. I want to emphasise that I was impressed by the prompt communication from HR through the whole process.
