I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Costello Medical (Manchester, England) in Feb 2022
Interview
Written assessment first, which I spent the better part of a full day putting together. Invited to an interview/assessment day via Teams. Asked to present a 10min presentation at interview, which was linked to the written assessment, as well as a single slide relating to the specific role I had applied for. Friendly and informal 'interviews' (just discussions and sensible questions) with staff ranging from the level to which I was applying for through to a head of division. All were extremely welcoming and engaging. Following presentations and interviews, completed an online proofreading/review assessment of a medium length document for ~1h. Assessment was quite vague and open to interpretation, but relevant to the role.

Question 1
What do you think you will find challenging in this new role?
The first round was a more informal phone call. After I passed this, I was provided a technical assessment that was graded before they shared the opportunity for a final technical interview.

Interview
Costello seem to have an open job advert and it appears they are only after the very best. An extremely time consuming technical assessment which seems very other the top for an entry level role. On top of that they give very generic feedback about grammar for the written assessment which I know is not true as I made sure to be very thorough. It seems crazy to reject a candidate for grammar given grammar and AL tools are used nowadays rather than judge them on their scientific capabilities.

Interview
The interview process was smooth and straightforward, with standard questions. The team was very accommodating, professional, and welcoming, creating a comfortable environment that made the experience positive and stress-free overall.
