Lack of meaningful follow-up after a 3‑month process
The process:
Mid-November: Application submitted
Dec 12 (10:30 a.m.): First interview with HR
Jan 16 (10:00 a.m.): Interview with two operational directors
Feb 2: Status changed to “Rejected” on the candidate portal — no human contact
My experience:
The discussions themselves were interesting and constructive, but the overall candidate management lacked professionalism. After investing three months in the process, I received no communication following the final interview.
I sent thank‑you emails to both managers right after the interview, and on Jan 29 I followed up again specifically with the manager who would have been my direct supervisor. I also tried to contact HR several times (emails on Jan 22 and Feb 12, plus a phone call on Jan 26). None of these messages received a reply.
Receiving only an automated rejection update through the SuccessFactors system after meeting senior leaders and HR was disappointing and does not reflect well on the company’s employer brand.
Advice to management:
Establish a basic courtesy rule: any candidate who reaches the management interview stage deserves a personalized response — or at least a reply to follow‑up emails.
