-1 screening interview with HR person was supposed to be on camera, but his camera didn't work and we had to do with audio only. Easy interview to learn more about you and your motivations as well as the recruitment process.
-If you pass this interview, they will give you a research assignment test.
-If you pass this test, you were supposed to have another virtual face-to-face interview with the hiring manager and another team member, which at the end did not attend, only the hiring manager.
At this point, unfortunately the hiring manager didn't seem to give much room for mistakes so the process didn't move forward. They are looking for a ''great fit, not just a good fit.''
The process took several weeks until I got the final rejection email. I asked for feedback and received input from HR which was a good point to learn more about the standards they use to select or reject candidates based on these steps.
Unfortunately, even if they think you had some good points during the process, if you missed some parts because of interview stress or anything else, you won't get a chance, at least in my case and this was the second time I received a rejection from this company. Also, you can expect changes during test interview, at least that was my case as well for the simulated ''discovery call'' and you may be unprepared, which will be a reason to easily disqualify you.
Although it's great to have a combination of interview and tests, it won't necessarily mean that if candidates perform well on interviews, it will be the same on the role.
Last, but definitely not least to consider as an aside note, after researching the company while on preparing for the test, the company doesn't seem to reflect much Diversity & Inclusion, based on their predominant demographics, which may also be a factor and and unconscious bias playing a factor when selecting candidates. Therefore, the visible lack of diversity which is a bit of a shock from a company that operates globally and is 1000+ employees with only one predominant demographic, which raises questions such as if same standards are equally applied to all candidates.
Overall a long process with combination of interviews, tests, but even if you try your best the process may also be very subjective at the same time.
