I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Greensboro, NC) in Dec 2012
Interview
It was a on the spot interview when i was turning in my application, it took probably 15mins. The manager was really nice, unfortunately he is no longer there, but other than that you are asked simple questions about yourself. The questions were easy, but at the time they were in desperate need for a new dishwasher.

I applied online. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)
Interview
They sent me an email confirming a time and day, then told me to come back later because it was "too busy". Came back and waited almost an hour for a 5 minute interview along with another guy for the same position. The manager interviewed me and said the hiring manager wasn't in today. Pretty disorganized.
Just met with GM for a quick interview and got hired on the spot; asked about previous experience and availability. Very casual and quick process overall. Was also scheduled for orientation
Simple and to the point. Met with a manager and was asked basic questions. Where have you worked and what is your goals in the future. I applied for dishwasher so you wouldn't expect complicated questions.
