Interview
When I arrived, the manager looked well put together, hair in place, makeup and dress clothing well matched and here I was, minimal makeup and hair brushed out after a quick shower... I was nervous and told her so, as I'd been at home for some time with an online business and not out in the public work environment. I just kept it honest. From the hours I could and could not work to my experience and/or lack thereof in any given area of topic.

Nothing specific, no real "cookie cutter" questions.
I will tell you though that in retail they are looking for someone who has the Cracker Barrel ideal. You'll need to be very outgoing, smile throughout the day and be on the lookout for a hint of someone needing help.

I applied online. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Hammond, IN) in Nov 2025
Interview
The date set-up interview process was automatic, yet the in person portion was inside of the restaurant. They set me up at a table and I waited for the manager. The manager asked me questions of my skills, experience, how I would describe myself and my approach to the customer.
The interview process was easy and very non-stressful. They asked general questions about why I wanted to work at Cracker Barrel and about my availability. I was interviewed in the dining area, so plan your interview during a time that's less busy.
