I applied in-person. I interviewed at Crate and Barrel (Saint Louis, MO) in Sep 2012
Interview
It was fairly easy- I went into the store and picked up an application, went home and filled it out and then returned it to the store (you can also just do it online). I dressed up and made sure I looked professional and presentable. A few months later, when they were starting to hire for the holiday season, I got a call for an interview with the store manager at the store. The interview was very laid back (we talked upstairs in the furniture department, sitting on a couch!) with simple questions about why I want to work there and what good customer service is to me. I was pretty much offered the job on the spot and put on the schedule for the next week!
A single in person interview in the store with a floor manager a couple weeks after submitting an online application through the company website, and received an offer the same day

Question 1
How did you respond to a problem that arose in teamwork
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Crate and Barrel in Sep 2025
Interview
I arrived 10 mins early and they had me wait on one of their couches on the sales floor. The department lead met me where I was seated and we held the interview there. The first question she asked was for me to tell her about myself and then we continued with more questions. Most of the questions were about giving examples. It felt really natural and more so like a conversation. She seemed to like me and said I will have to have a 2nd interview with the store manager.

Interview
They called me, set up the interview. I showed up, 5 minutes early. The manager had forgotten about our interview. He sent me to interview with a different manager, and they asked me many questions and explained the role. The role seemed much different than it had in the description online.
