Interview
The hiring process is broken. After 2 rounds of interviews with various members of the brand team that appeared to be going well, I was rejected through an automated email that went to my junk mail. They didn't even have the courtesy to send me a personalized rejection.
For a company which crafts such beautiful, carefully detailed and award-winning in-game experiences, their hiring process is surprisingly sloppy. Suffice to say, from being a passionate fan of their games, I'm now indifferent. I still respect their work, but as a company, they no longer command the respect they once did in my eyes.
My advice would to be to update the hiring process so it's more transparent and personable. There's no reason why candidates can't communicate with hiring managers directly (as they can at many other tech and media firms), and why they should be made to wait for a week or 10 days in-between interviews to receive an update on next steps.
Look at Uber or other major tech companies for examples. Being rejected for a job is not a big deal, but the manner in which I was rejected left a bad taste in my mouth, and felt shoddy and immature. A company which doesn't have the integrity to personally communicate negative outcomes to candidates after they've interviewed them several times over the course of several weeks merely speaks volumes about its character and reveals the truth about its culture, no matter how careful the branding.
