Cruise Machine Learning Engineer interview questions

I was asked about my resume, and to describe a project. The interviewer drilled down on a certain technical detail I mentioned in passing and spent about 20 minutes trying to clarify an explanation about it. they didn't seem to understand or accept my correct (I double checked afterwards) explanation of this fairly standard practice. We then did a 30 minute coding exercise, for which I was able to come up with a working solution, Process felt very subjective, and I was disappointed that I was forced to elaborate on one detail of one past project rather than communicate the breadth of all my projects.

A recruiter contacted me. Very unprofessional process, confused about the position and what expectation to have. Answered the question correctly and all follow-ups as well but received a rejection within the next couple of hours.
