I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Cubic (Burnaby, BC) in Jul 2016
Interview
WOW! These people need proper hr staff. I received a call from the receptionist regarding my cv and wondered if I could come in for an interview. The way she was taking was fast and sounded like it was read from a script and it DEFINITELY sounded like she made a million of these calls per week. I found out why shortly after my interview began.
I showed up to the office only to find that there was NO Cubic sign on the door telling you that this was the office (weird). The door was locked and there was no one at the desk so rang the bell on the outside and waited.....and waited then, I rang again. Finally, after a few minutes, a young woman came up, (wearing cut off jean shorts and flip flops) and scowled at me as she unlocked and opened the door. The interview started about 10 minutes late and as I sat there I heard the receptionist making more calls to prospective call center workers, again using the same script as she did with me. Looking into the call centre I saw the faces of the call centre staff. Man, did they all looked depressed.
At this point I started to get the picture regarding the high turnover this company must experience, (not a good sign). I went into the interview where I was met by two middle aged men. One of the first questions they asked was, (and I'm not kidding here) : "So why are you even here, you don't have any call centre experience?!" Um, what? Why did you guys call me in for this interview then? lolol. To say they were both inexperienced and condescending would be to put it lightly. The interview just went down hill from there. They spent most of the interview complaining about how bad their past employees were and how no one puts in any effort in their job. WELL THEN PAY MORE THAN $15/HR!
BE AWARE:
1.THESE GUYS WILL HIRE YOU AS TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES AND THEN KEEP YOU AS TEMPORARY IN ORDER TO AVOID GIVING YOU BENEFITS. ALSO AS A PERMANENT TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE, THEY CAN FIRE YOU AT ANY TIME WITH OUT NOTICE OR SEVERANCE.
2. THESE GUYS LOOSE 4 PEOPLE PER MONTH! THAT'S HOW BAD IT IS HERE.
3. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE FAKE REVIEWS THEY POST ON GLASSDOOR AND INDEED.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cubic in Oct 2024
Interview
It was a detailed interview. And they ask relevant questions related to the job and my experiences. It was a two stage interview. And the skill test was mandatory. And there is some webpage usage and listening test too before the main interview. And the interview went smoothly.
