I was contacted by a recruiter for the company who scheduled an interview after seeing my resume. Interview went fantastic with a panel of three people, manager and two support personnel. The next day I received a request for 6 references, to which I gave them 7. Then wait....I was told in the interview they were looking to hire immediately, “like yesterday!” I sent a thank you card that day, and continued to wait. I maintained contact with the recruiter as weeks had gone by at this point in limbo. I only heard a very vague response of “yeah, I wish I knew that answer” when I reached out to them for status. 4 weeks later I received an email of the typical “we are moving forward with another candidate, thanks for your time”. Another week passes and I receive a phone call from the same recruiter that they would like a follow up phone interview with other managers. I schedule for the very next day and sit on a dead conference call for 30+ minutes while the hiring managers decided to no show. I contacted recruiter and he advised that he would get to the bottom of it and contact me the next day. I heard nothing the next day and had to send yet another email to try to reschedule the follow up interview. The next day I finally get a response and it is advising that sorry, the hiring managers decided that they don’t want you in the pool of contenders and sorry for the inconvenience. BEWARE!!! Ridiculously unprofessional. Anyone that strings along and treats a potential employee like that, probably doesn’t treat an actual employee very well either!
