I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Curtiss-Wright (Pittsburgh, PA) in Apr 2014
Interview
They use the Lominger Competencies, which are 'situation based' questions. They ask you to describe a situation, how you handled it, and what the outcomes were. I thought this was a good method but it was a bit overkill. Those were the only types of questions they asked, and after a certain point, you don't have many other experiences to pull from. The questions can be somewhat similar, so I ended up using the same experience to answer multiple questions. The interview was with a panel of 3-5 people.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time when you realized you made a mistake at work. What steps did you take to remedy the situation, and what was the outcome?
Applied online and was contacted relatively quickly soon after. Pretty routine process, phone screen with recruiter. Follow-up with hiring manager. Communication is prompt and all persons were pleasant to deal with.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Curtiss-Wright in Feb 2025
Interview
Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and then scheduled an onsite interview after a screening call. Onsite interview consisted of three managers asking STAR questions from a premade packet. Conversations outside of these questions were very minimal. This made the interview seem very rigid and made the interviewers seem not very personable.

Question 1
Describe a time where you had to make a decision without all the information.
