I was referred by a friend, which is probably the only reason the recruiter called me, even though I had many of the job qualifications. Although the recruiter called almost immediately after I submitted my resume, I was unavailable, and called her back for about 2 weeks before she got back to me. At that point she informed me they were already far along with other candidates, which I thought was pretty unprofessional, since I had tried repeatedly to get in touch with the recruiter. She said she would still follow up with the hiring manager, but was at least candid in saying at this point probably nothing would come of it,since they had already gone through much of the interview process with these other candidates. And as expected, I never heard back. I only participated in a phone screen. The recruiter did not seem familiar with my resume (to the point of seeming surprised when I touched on experience that was clearly stated in my resume- i.e. that I had worked for x number of years at this company).
