      Applications Support Engineer Interview

      Feb 26, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Tysons Corner
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cvent (Tysons Corner) in Jul 2014

      Interview

I was contacted by one of Cvent's technical recruiters and I was given a brief overview of the position. After coming to the conclusion that I would be a good fit for the position, I had a phone interview with a member of the support team. I was asked basic questions like: What kind of programming languages do you know? Do you have experience with relational databases? And some basic networking questions. I did relatively well in the phone interview and was asked to go in for an on-site interview. I went in for the on-site interview and was interviewed by about six people, usually only one or two people at a time. I was asked about my previous jobs, school work, problem solving questions, and code-tracing questions. I got most of the questions correct, but I did get a few wrong. Overall, I felt like they were generally pleased with my answers. I left the interview feeling pretty good about my chances of getting the job, however, I was left hanging. I did not hear back from the recruiter or anyone else at the company for a few weeks. I figured this was normal, as I knew they were interviewing other candidates as well. After a month I interviewed the recruiter and asked what my status was and she never e-mailed me or called me back. It has now been 7 MONTHS since the interview and no one has gotten back to me. I e-mailed the recruiter last week, and she still hasn't e-mailed me back. My application status on their website still says that it is "in review." I am shocked by the company's lack of professionalism and their inability to at least tell me that I didn't get the job. I will report back in a few months, or years, if I ever hear any feedback from Cvent.

I applied online. I interviewed at Cvent

      Interview

Recruiter reached out to schedule an interview. A few hours before the call was scheduled, she asked if we could reschedule for later in the day. That was no problem. Later that day, she asked again if we could reschedule, this time for the next day. I agreed and asked what time worked for her. Never heard from her again. Ghosting a candidate in this manner is incredibly unprofessional.
