Cyera seems like a strong company with thoughtful, talented people. Unfortunately, the candidate experience left a lot to be desired.
My initial phone screen with the recruiter started late and felt extremely rushed. It was clear they were juggling many roles, and the conversation felt more like a box-checking exercise than a true opportunity to connect. The pace left no time for questions, which set an unfortunate tone early in the process.
I then interviewed with the hiring manager and completed a loop with several team members. Everyone I met was knowledgeable, kind, and clearly passionate about their work. However, the interviews themselves felt surprisingly unstructured and focused more on culture fit than on skills, experience, or role alignment.
The most disappointing part came at the final stage. After making it to late-stage interviews, I was completely ghosted. All communication from the recruiter was automated, which made it unclear whether my follow-ups or thank-you notes were even reaching a real person.
I fully understand that recruiters at high-growth companies are under significant pressure. Still, when automated scheduling and messaging systems are already in place, it feels reasonable to expect a basic closing loop — even a brief rejection email — for candidates who invest significant time and effort in the process.
Overall, Cyera appears to be a company with great people and strong potential, but their recruiting experience would greatly benefit from more structure, transparency, and respect for candidates’ time.
