The process started with an initial HR interview, which mainly covered my background. After that, I was invited to an on-site, technical interview with the team leader, which lasted about 1.5 hours.
The interviewer was professional and friendly, and the technical discussion was interesting.
I was asked to design a system that tracks files from S3, given two API endpoints with specific response schemas.
However, after the interview, HR called to inform me that I wasn’t moving forward due to a lack of experience in cloud technologies and Kubernetes. This feedback felt irrelevant because I had already mentioned my level of experience in these areas in advance. If these were strict requirements, it would have been more efficient for both sides to filter this out earlier rather than inviting me to a full interview.
Overall, while the interview itself was fine, the process felt like a waste of time due to misaligned expectations. Clearer initial screening criteria would improve the candidate experience.
