Have to say, very brilliant people. I think the company has a bright future, and I mean that sincerely. As for the candid part... Company appears to be typical science initiated startup (mostly using Python as scientists tend to start there, eventually evolving into Javascript/Go as platform expands/matures). Traditional SAAS platform with cloud/kubernetes. Nothing non-traditional in stack. They will likely have a very difficult time moving away from Python. Interview format is similar to MAANG (two medium Leetcode questions, one exercise related to job). Almost identical to Google interviews excluding distributed system design. As usual, almost nothing related to actual job so make sure to grind some algorithms if you really want to do well. I've seen and done both problems I was given before so no surprises and fair, but I am beyond tired of the same style of interview questions and my brain just shut down and fought it. I refuse to grind algorithms for months anymore and it proves nothing about your problem solving approach as most people have seen the problems before regardless and practice until it's repetition (been over a year for me and don't have the time). I signed an NDA, so won't give any specifics, but I felt I was heavily docked for things you can just Google in seconds or automate with scripts. Also, they will ask you obscure questions about languages that you will never need to know on the job, so a bit old school in that approach and behind the times from my perspective. Also, interestingly enough, no behavioral questions which surprised me. My guess would be they are a mix of physics/computer scientists and FAANG defectors. Again, brilliant people, just expect a more FAANG-style interview approach. Probably an absolutely amazing place to work if you pass the interviews. Also, we are all super busy and get hundreds of recruiters, but make sure to research their company and how they do things differently as it's important to them.
