Completely unprofessional. Was contacted by a recruiter (phone) for a half hour chat. Seemed to go well but took a week to follow up. Had a phone interview with a member of technical staff which seemed to go quite well. But never heard back from the recruiter, despite contact from myself asking whether they were interested in furthering the conversation. Didn't even have the courtesy to politely decline. Got the feeling (subsequently reinforced by other Glassdoor interviews), they are shopping primarily for bargain priced candidates, or more accurately those interested to become one. I've found through my decades long engineering career, dealing with a prospective employer's HR department directly can be ineffective,. Without an external recruiter or internal employee championing yourself to the company, things often happen slowly if at all. I was about further try soliciting some sort of response, but after taking in the numerous Glassdoor reviews (lowball salary, unusually expensive health insurance, no accommodation for remote work, WEIRD cult-like culture) I lost interest. I will say the marketing job they expend to paint the company as a compelling place to work is very effective. That is until you start to dig into the reality. Ultimately I decided to just let this opportunity slide.
