After submitting my application, I received a call from HR. They scheduled a technical interview to assess my skills and experience relevant to the position. Finally, I have accepted the offer.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at DEVNET (Sycamore, IL)
Interview
My first contact with DEVNET was a phone call I received from their HR department, asking if I'd like to come in for an interview. There was no initial phone screening, which is refreshing given the current trend of filtering applicants via crude pre-interview screening questions.
Upon arriving for my interview, I was surprised to find out that the person interviewing me was the President and Founder of the company, and that there would be no separate technical interview as he was also one of the companies original developers.
During the interview process I felt very at ease and the interviewer was very personable while remaining professional. I was able to get a strong sense of the technical and personal culture at the company, as well as their company mission. The interviewer asked intelligent questions, and was able to understand my answers, a quality not always present even in technical interviews.
I was offered a position the very next day, which I gladly accepted, and started the following Monday. The initial offer was more than reasonable for a mid-level position in the area and the hiring process was painless.
