I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Raleigh, NC) in Nov 2011
Interview
I applied and the next day I got called in for an interview. The woman I interviewed with was very friendly and sweet and asked the basic interview questions like tell me a little about yourself?, your availability?, why do you want to work at this store? After the interview I answered a few questions on the computer about my moral character. After I finished she printed out the results and I passed. She knew I drove about 2 hours for the drive so instead of asking me to come back another day for the 2nd interview she asked the general manager if I could go ahead and interview with him that day as well. I was really unprepared for this, but I went in there and he really grilled me HARD!! I was so nervous, but apparently I did a great job because the next day they called to offer me the job. There's a catch.....I applied and interviewed for apparel associate, but they both agreed on me being a cashier since I seemed to be such a people person!! I told them I needed time to think about that because a cashier at Dick's during the holidays sounds like a complete nightmare!! I finally called them back to decline the offer. Of course I had interviews at 4 other Dick's in the area and since I already took the moral character interview at the first store the other stores had to call them to get the results, so I guess they bad mouthed me since I declined the original job offer. I never heard back from any of the other Dick's so I just left it alone! Not fair but oh well.....
I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Niles, IL)
Interview
Very simple. One phone screen and then an in person interview with the floor manager. Overall very simple process and very few questions. Got offered the position during the second interview.
