I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Lansing, MI) in Mar 2014
Interview
Applications are submitted online only and are printed off for screening/review. I was then contacted by phone to schedule an interview. My first interview was with the manager of the golf department. After about a week, I was contacted again to set up a second interview with the store manager. In my experience, both interviews contained almost identical questions. About half of the questions were asking about previous customer service experience; they present scenarios and want to know how you handled/would handle them. The other half of the questions dealt with my knowledge and experience of golf. Examples were how often I play, how long I've been playing, can I discuss current trends in equipment and apparel. After the second interview, the store manager contacted me informing me that I had been hired.

I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Torrance, CA)
Interview
Short and Easy. Asked about availability, golf experience such as handicap, clubs, and how much I play. It was a part-time job so I didn't stress too much. It's true that I love and play golf so answers were coming from the heart and interview was more enjoyable than other places.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods in Jun 2024
Interview
Overall, the few questions took less than 15 minutes for both parts of the interview. One with another employee, then the next with at least an assistant manager, and the department leader on site.

They had a few questions about my sports experience. What I felt I could bring to the job, and some of my best "Strengths."

Interview
Asks about basic golf knowledge and retail experience. Walks you around the store to meet staff and see how you interact on the floor. As long as you’re somewhat sociable and able to speak with new people you’ll be fine.
