I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Denver, CO) in Jul 2014
Interview
Online app was quick, first interview with assistant manager, second interview with GM. Asked a lot of the same questions twice. Asked questions that didn't relate to the position. Took forever to get called in for orientation. They often call people in for interviews when they don't have the hours to use for training, so you'll be waiting 2-4 weeks before you actually start working.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you didn't give excellent customer service?
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods in Jan 2025
Interview
Very straightforward and seemed very black and white. There were no frills about it. As long as your resume and personality were positive, you will be okay. Just being a team player and available seems to help.
Somewhat frustrating, Via Teams on chat with COE. I waited for 30 minutes to get a response and only was asked to answer"Okay" after reading the briefing. It was the waiting for him to chat back that was very frustrating.
Very straightforward and easy. Questions were very direct and to the point. They never made you feel pressured or gave an inadequate response. Very respectful. Would enjoy if every interview was this direct and respectful
