Lengthy, unclear recruitment process lacking candidate consideration
Review:
My overall recruitment experience with Daiichi Sankyo was disappointing. The process stretched over four months, during which I received no meaningful feedback from the recruiter despite sending emails to request updates on timelines.
The only direct interaction with the hiring manager was a single 30‑minute call. This was insufficient to truly understand the role, the company culture, and the challenges inherent in such a critical position. Following that, I was asked to deliver a 90‑minute panel interview including a detailed presentation. After investing significant time and effort, I was ultimately rejected via a brief email.
For a company that emphasizes values such as integrity, and respect for people, the candidate experience did not reflect these principles. Recruitment should be a two‑way agreement: companies assess candidates, but candidates also need the opportunity to evaluate the organization’s culture, values, and leadership style. Transparent communication, timely feedback, and considerate closure are essential to living up to those values.
I hope Daiichi Sankyo reflects on how its recruitment practices align with its corporate commitments, as the candidate experience is a direct extension of the company’s brand and values.
