I had an initial interview with a recruiter for a pentesting role at Darktrace. The conversation itself was fine — the recruiter was polite and asked thoughtful questions about my experience.
What was disappointing was what came after. Despite being told the process would move quickly and that I’d hear back within about two weeks, I heard absolutely nothing
I followed up politely on LinkedIn and email, and even though my message was read, there was no reply at all. Three weeks later, my application still shows as “active” on the careers portal, but it’s clear I’m no longer being considered.
It’s frustrating because everywhere you look, the company promotes growth and hiring, but from a candidate perspective, the experience feels impersonal and careless. A simple “no” or “we’ve moved on” would have been professional and respectful.
The interview itself was fine, but the lack of transparency and follow-through left a negative impression. For a company that works in cybersecurity and AI, I expected a more accountable process.
