Initial screening zoom call with hiring manager, faculty, and admin a few weeks after submitted application. Mostly questions about my background and experience and we had a great scientific conversation. I learned more about the role and the structure of the department. I then had an on-site interview a week or two later (arriving in the evening, full day interview, send-off the following morning). I had a full day of meetings with a wide variety of prospective colleagues, some 1:1 and some matrix meetings. I have a 45-min presentation on my research, which drove many of my conversations throughout the day. I strongly enjoyed the team, environment and leadership, and I think I would have made great contributions in this role. I ultimately felt that a competing industry offer was a better fit for me.
