Interview
You ask the prof to intern whether or not they have any teaching assistant opportunities available for this upcoming semester and explain your interest in the course. Once this is established an open dialogue will continue and the prof will inform you about the opportunities available.
Asked about my background and get to know you. Specifically what courses I have taken in the past and how well I performed in those courses. Specifically, what my strengths were and how I would contribute as a teaching assistant.
The process simply involves either you contacting the prof or the prof contacting you to be a TA for his or her class. If your performance in the class was satisfactory then you get the job. Application to each course happens every term.
