I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DataRobot
Interview
I was asked to join a Google Hangout with one of the senior data scientists. The interview started off pretty standard - asking me to describe a project I've worked on. I picked a recent project in natural language processing and talked about everything from data storage through ETL through the learning algorithms. The interviewer didn't seem to understand much outside of the machine learning algorithms so I focused my discussion on this. The interviewer followed up with a set of basic ML questions - why use regularization, describe a random forest - and again, seemed confused when I dove too deep technically. Finally, the interviewer started asking me questions about the personal / hobbies section of my resume in a very passive aggressive tone. It honestly started to make me feel uncomfortable. I finished by asking the interviewer about his programming experience. He said he doesn't know how to program.

Question 1
How would you frame this business problem into data science problem.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DataRobot (Boston, MA) in Oct 2021
Interview
The entire experience with the DataRobot recruiting team was great!
This was the most well organized recruitment process that I have ever participated to.
During every technical interview I noticed that not only the hard skills, but also the soft skills and human interaction and wellbeing are higly valued within the DataRobot environment.
All the interviewers were amazing and had a great amount of experience and passion for their jobs, which encouraged me to push the limits of professionnal improvement even more, but also to be part of their team.
The recruitment team has accompagnied me all along the way and they have been very reactive all the time, making sure that I had visibility on each step.
And even when there were pending actions from their side, they reassured me and constantly gave me updates about the process.

Question 1
Just quick example :
How do you explain to a child what supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms are?
The scheduled time for first round interview is 2:00-2:30 pm. However, the interviewers had not never showed up. Won’t consider any positions in Data Robot any more. It’s very disappointing.
