Video interviews w/ team member, team manager and dept manager
I can't stress enough how thorough and expedient the recruitment process was. My recruiter was communicative, enthusiastic and provided excellent guidance. The cycle from application to offer was a week and a half.
I think solid SaaS sales knowledge made it a bit easier to explore culture fit quickly. A nominal understanding of the client profile may have increased my visibility as well. I'd focus on the particular manner in which you deal with clients and the experiences that formed your approach.
In conclusion: culture fit, customer service, account growth
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Datadog
Interview
Initial reach out from recruiter on Linked in. Scheduling app to find a time. They use Ring so your carrier may see it as spam and drop the call.
Good conversation but seemed like canned questions that were already answered in my resume. DataDog does record interviews as well so be aware of that.
Salary didn't align at all with my experience so I declined moving forward. Also requiring hybrid work and commute is not tenable at this stage in my career so overall we were very misaligned with my current title (SR role) to a front line manager role.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Datadog (Singapore) in Apr 2026
Interview
Was initially approached by the recruiter directly. The conversation was standard with standard questions, however it appeared that the questions were not relevant to my experience and the recruiter seemed irate at questions asked and had an overall condescending demeanour.
Recruiter was late. Just a prescreen call. Did not progress passed this point as there were stronger candidates in the pipeline. She was pretty unresponsive and seem unorganized about the whole thing.
