I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dayforce (Morrisville, NC) in Apr 2010
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter who found my resume online. We did two phone interviews and then I was asked for a face to face meeting. I was asked to come in on 3 different occasions to interview with 3 different hiring managers. The first manager asked me questions about my resume. The second did not really show much interest in me and I felt that I was wasting my lunch hour. The third was basically a meet and greet. She was basically feeling me out to see if I was a good fit for her team. We actually had a great discussion and she explained in detail the day to day activities of the position. However at the end of the interview she said that she did not think she had enough in her budget to meet my salary requirements. That of course left me feeling like I wasted another hour because I gave my salary requirements to the initial recruiter. I was offered a position to by the first hiring manager and later learned that they had meetings and ranked applicants.

Question 1
Nothing unexpected. I was expecting to have to calculate a pay check but I don't think they were concern if you had payroll knowledge or a payroll background.

I only made it to the phone interview, which was extremely extremely laid back and unprofessional. She seemed extremely promising and even offered to put my application for several positions but then they decided to move forward with a different candidate

You apply online, but be careful as different listings are for different jobs. I would not go through a contract or recruiter as they offer _significantly_ less than if you are a direct hire. HR generally responds with if they want a call within a week. You use dayforce to set up an interview slot and do a phone screen with HR. HR then passes you on to the hiring manager and you set up another interview with them. I was interviewed via a conference call with the manager as she is WFH, but sometimes they do have you go to the physical location. They let you know if you got the job in 24 hours.
