I went through multiple interviews for the People Operations Lead role over the course of nearly two months. The process included an assessment that required a significant amount of work, only for the company to ultimately say they were reevaluating the scope of the role. Throughout the process, I also had to follow up several times just to keep things moving and get updates.
My feedback is to ensure there is clear alignment internally before opening a role and asking candidates to invest substantial time in interviews and assessments. It’s also important to communicate proactively throughout the hiring process so candidates aren’t left waiting for weeks or having to repeatedly ask for updates. Respecting candidates’ time and effort goes a long way toward creating a positive hiring experience.
