Pros:
The hiring manager and teammates I spoke with were clearly experienced and passionate about the company. The interviews were conversational and insightful, with a strong emphasis on long-term team culture and international strategy. The role sounded exciting and well aligned with my profile, and I was told I was exactly what they were looking for.
Cons:
Unfortunately, after what seemed like genuine enthusiasm from both interviewers, I was ghosted. I had to follow up myself weeks later, only to find out the role had been put on hold due to budget constraints. No one reached out proactively to inform me. Had I not chased, I’d likely still be waiting. For a company that emphasises transparency and strong communication, this felt misaligned.
Advice to Management:
If you’re not moving forward with a role or candidate, please communicate that. Ghosting candidates, especially those you’ve invested interview time in, leaves a lasting negative impression, regardless of how strong the conversation was.
