Interview
At first I had a phone interview with the human resource director. Then I heard nothing for several weeks. Then I had another phone interview again with human resources. Then another phone interview with the director of sales and it was weeks after that that they finally got back to me and told me that I was not being considered for a face to face interview.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Delta Air Lines in Apr 2021
Interview
There are several levels to the interview process and it does vary a little if you are an internal vs. external candidate. The first step is usually a recorded video interview via HireVue. Then, depending on the role 2-3 virtual/in-person, interviews with a variety of leaders in the department. There has also been a leader from a completely other division that has joined in the last round for a different perspective.
Delta has a "pay grade" structure. Therefore, they often posts positions that are technically more promotional "grades" and they have a candidate already in mind, and results in unnecessary time spent and getting peoples hopes up when they know they already have someone picked out for a much deserved promotion. These days DE&I are so important, you have to ponder if they are looking at other factors to "choose the best" person for the role. It's 2021 and I know many companies are doing the same thing.

Team interview with two senior managers. Exceptionally professional, skilled staff who genuinely understood the requirements of the positions available. I left with the feeling that they had genuine interest in me.
