I was contacted probably 2-3 weeks or so after submitting my resume, application, etc. to them online for an upper elementary classroom teacher. I went in to the screening interview which is done by HR department and some school officials, e.g. first we did a group activity in which you had to design a school assembly activity with other candidates, then I interviewed with principal very briefly. He asked very predictable, standard interview/teacher interview questions, e.g. what has been your biggest challenge teaching/student teaching so far, and how did you overcome it? and what are your strengths. Then, about 1 week later I was contacted back to go into the school to do a demo lesson and second interview. Didn't take offer at the time because I had accepted another job at a different charter. Once I started working for other charter wasn't happy with school's overall climate, administration, etc., so when they contacted me again about 1 week in to my new job to see if ther was an update on me being available for an interview after all, I seized the opportunity. Went into do a demo lesson, they take you on tour of school first and have you observe in classes, including one you will do your demo in. Pay attention and make questions based on what you observe because after the demo they do a sit-down interview where they ask you how you think your demo went but also questions about what you observed in the rooms. They may ask you to re-do one part of your lesson in a second room, don't panic if that happens! They give you feedback and coach you through what they want you to improve on, and if you use their feedback well, it can only help you. (Don't sweat it, they asked me to re-teach first portion of my lesson in another room, and I still got hired).
