I was referred by a friend who worked at Denny's. I gave him my resume' 2 months ago. I waited and kept my mouth shut. I have no income and really needed a job. Finally, after 3 months I got an interview. An hour. After I was done. The manager and I left in smiles. She said wait 2days for a background check. I did She said to call the other manager in 2days in the afternoon. My friend who has talked to management all about me, said not to call, it's in the bag. I followed his instructions. I waited awaited. No call. I called my friend. He yelled at me over the phone and said I do not want to talk about it and hung up on me. I was crying. It has been a week. I did all the research. Every review about Denny's by former employees was right. Denny's sucks! They cut hours, have lousy management, they are always slow, you have to do 3 jobs for $8.00 an hour. My friend has not said anything to me about the job anymore. He is a manager in our group home. I hate his guts! I just keep peace now. I am waiting for Social Security disability insurance any day. And when I get it. I am out of here! I am 50 years old and been working 33 years! I do not need this kind of abuse.
