I should have felt it in my gut when, there was no job description from the start. However, they said they were filling multiple role, hence why they didn’t have the “time” to fill out multiple job specs- Now I know this was a red flag! I should have quit the process at this stage but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
I went through all 5 stages which took soooo long I.e 4months. On the 4th month, they “said” they were ready to make an offer. I waited till the 6th month and the offer never materialised. In the 7th month when it eventually did I had moved on and wasn’t interested in working for a company that had such an excruciatingly painful, super- inefficient and super-slow recruitment process.
Through out my wait for the offer, the internal and external recruiters were very unprofessional and unhelpful. The communication from both parties including the hiring director and manager were conflicting and confusing.
The external recruiter strung me along (unknown to me at the time) for months after the hiring manager had already taken another candidate, with the hope that a different role will open for me.
I have never had or heard of such an extremely unprofessional and disappointing recruitment experience ever. The entire recruitment process reeked of 100% complete and total unprofessionalism.
At the end of the process I vowed never to work for DB in future. If this is how they treat their candidates before you join, I wonder how they treat their staff after they have joined.
