I applied through a LinkedIn job posting. I later received an email from a local recruiter who asked me to schedule an appointment for a screening. Once we get to the date and time for the screening, the recruiter never arrives. I email and leave a voicemail. As soon as the schedule screening was set to end they text me and apologize stating previous meeting went over. They ask if they can call in 30 minutes. I have a conflict at that time and propose we speak the next day or early the following week. The recruiter completely disregards my availability and ask if I have time later today. Despite them being the one who missed our meeting, I made accommodations. We had the phone screening and they ask about my background and interest in the role and company. They also ask situational questions and tell me that the next steps are to complete two assessments ASAP so they can schedule a meeting with the hiring manager. I complete both and am invited to interview shortly after. The interview with the hiring manager is virtual as they don’t live locally. The recruiter is also late to this interview so we start without them. During the interview, it’s made very clear that the job posting doesn’t align with what they hiring manager wants. It’s a wonder if they ever read it. They also state there’s no onboarding and that they expect daily communication. Several read flags. I end the interview thinking that this must be a dysfunctional group and I’m likely correct. That was over a month ago and I never received the courtesy of a formal rejection.
