I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter for an initial screening call. The recruiter was friendly and professional during the process. After the screening, I was informed via email that the position had been "put on hold for an undefined time" due to a top management decision. However, just a few weeks later, I noticed the exact same role was reposted on LinkedIn. The position was clearly never on hold — it appears the company chose not to proceed with candidates who require visa sponsorship while using "on hold" as a more polite alternative to a straightforward rejection. I would have preferred honest feedback rather than a misleading reason.
