The HR guy was nice and straightforward. I was given a home assignment to complete, which I successfully completed. This was supposed to be a role with no necessary technical writing experience, however, the hiring manager, who did the first interview, seemed not to be impressed that I had no tech writing experience even though the job description stated that "technical writing background is not vital". Also, it seemed like she did not go over my resume as she thought I was a technical writer when I am in fact not. When I asked for feedback on what did go wrong in the interview I was told that they will move forward with a candidate who meets the job requirements better.
