      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Dec 7, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
Swindon, Wiltshire, South West England, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Digital.ai (Swindon, Wiltshire, South West England, England) in Aug 2023

      Interview

I will describe the entire procedure so people can make their own mind up and judge if that is the right way to treat an individual who is interested in joining their organisation. - I have applied online on the 20th September 2023 and had my first interview with an internal recruiter on the 25th September and it has taken 30 min, so far so good. - The second interview was on the 4th October 2023 with the hiring manager for 1 hour and again so far so good. - The third interview was with the counterpart of the hiring manager based in the US for 30 min on the 5th October, not sure why this was needed to be honest. - The fourth interview was on the 6th October for 1 hour with two CSM’s, I think this could have been replaced by a presentation where the entire customer success team is present and can see how your interact with the customer in a mock presentation. - The fifth interview was on the 10th October with a Senior Sales Director for 30 min, I understand that. - The 6th Interview was on the 24th October with the Chief Customer Officer (US) and has taken around 30 min, here is where its getting awkward to be honest as I have never seen that a CCO is interviewing CSM's - The 7th interview was on the 31th October and once again with the Chief Customer Officer as we could not finish the first interview and has taken again around 30min. - The 8th Interview was on the 29th November with the VP/GM, international and has taken 30min. 29 days later an interview with a VP/GM who tells me that she sees an issue that I am not based in Germany? So they don't discuss those requirements upfront? This morning 7th December 1am UK time I got an standard email from the recruiter saying how grateful they are that I have applied and taken the time to interview with them but they wont process my application any further. I am not disappointed that I did not get the position but that it has taken far too long and I was confronted with an unusual high amount of interviews asking basically the same questions. On top of that I would have expected that I get at least a phone call with some explanation after all the time I have invested. I guess everything happens for a reason but you do not need to behave this way to people who are showing interest in joining your organisation. For me this was more or less dragging me along until they have found the right candidate which is poor if true. The interviews have been fine so there is no complain but their entire process is not the standard anyone would and should expect. The entire process has taken from the 20th September to 7th December which is 78 days or 11 weeks and 1 Day, with an email in the end saying they wont process any further. My advice is to urgently look into your hiring process and show more compassion towards your candidates as nobody want to get dragged along for that amount of time. Basically from the 31th October to the 29th November nothing has happened, just waiting and asking for feedback and that is just not good enough. Also the recruiter could have been much more proactive with her communication and not wait for candidates to ask for feedback. It doesn't take long to write an email or better to call and explain why there is a delay.
